I've clicked Write a comment ... at bottom of the page and then dragged-in a file named testing_transition.patch into the editor.
File was uploaded and link was added to the editor, however in the database in ATTACHMENTS table CONTENTTYPE column was set to application/x-upload-data instead of text/plain, which is indicated in confluence-install/confluence/WEB-INF/classes/mime.types file.
Also it seems, that confluence provided mime.types file is very small comparing to one, provided in CentOS installation.
Hello Dimitry,
Can you clarify what version of Confluence you are using?
We have the following bug that deals with an earlier version of Confluence (3.1)
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-18951
That seems to suggest that there is a problem with the mime types when performing a drag and drop upload. Are your results different if you do not drag and drop?
I would like a chance to try to replicate this behavior on my test machine. If later than 3.1 we may be seeing a regression of this earlier bug.
I'm using Confluence 4.3.6 and this issue was confirmed by Attlasian support and bug report https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-27969 was created.

Hi Dmitry,
Can you confirm what is the consequence in Confluence of having the wrong mimetype?
Are you having to download the patch rather than view it in the browser?
Cheers,
Renan

Yes, because of incorrect mime content type detected patch is downloaded instead of being shown directly in browser.
