Image links break and then work sproadically

We have  a page on confluence. it has two images attached and inserted. Sometimes when the page is visited a broken image link icon is displayed for each image. Other times, the image renders completely fine. This is sporadic behaviour. Any ideas?

Sounds like a caching issue, which may or may not be client based. To troubleshoot it:

  • are you using a rewrite-proxy in front of Confluence?
  • are the pictures stored on confluence or are they externally linked from a internet-site?
  • does it happen from all clients, or only one? If only one: clear cache and cookies, logout and login again.
  • Try different browsers to see if it's isolated to the browser.
  • Useing firefox addon firebug, go to the net tab, refresh the page and see if the load of the pictures is delayed somehow.

No rewrite proxy,

Pictures are stored on confluence

Happens on IE and chrome

Will try firebug, any other suggestions?
