I'm trying to add created group to global permissions but there is no add button or input box in edit global permissions page?

Gabriel Drescher March 9, 2017

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Global Permissions Overview

The description is in the subject. I'm the administrator of our confluence site and I cannot find a way to add more groups to global permission section. There is only info "Go to the site administration to license more users to use Confluence." where the input for group to add should be . We have license on 10 users.

It is really weird the way you can do it. On our instance I had to go to Jira Settings (I wonder what happens if you do not use Jira in Cloud), then go to Applications and there is the Application Access page, where you can add groups to the Global Permissions page of Confluence as well. Quite odd if you ask me.

The documentation for Cloud is out of date / incorrect for this feature.

See Why don't I see "Grant browse permission to"?

Yes, updated answers posted there. I was able to resolve the issue in about 10 minutes. Bizarre hip hopping around the applications, but got it working perfectly.
