Huge stdout file in log directory

Arno van Hemert December 4, 2017

In my logdirectory C:\Program Files\Atlassian\Confluence\logs I found a huge logfile confluence###-stdout.2016-09-24 dated 23-12 last year. As in my openion this file is of no use I want to deleted. Can I delete this file without having an issue or is the application using this file?

I have stdout files of more recent dates.

18GB is huge. It should have rolled after 20M. Please check your log4j.properties file to make sure the max file size is reasonable:

log4j.appender.confluencelog.MaxFileSize=20480KB

This article has some useful details on configuring logging:

Working with Confluence Logs

You are safe to delete that monster standard out file. The application is not using it.
