Huge stdout file in log directory

In my logdirectory C:\Program Files\Atlassian\Confluence\logs I found a huge logfile confluence###-stdout.2016-09-24 dated 23-12 last year. As in my openion this file is of no use I want to deleted. Can I delete this file without having an issue or is the application using this file?

I have stdout files of more recent dates.

18GB is huge. It should have rolled after 20M. Please check your file to make sure the max file size is reasonable:

Not mentioned yet. The file is 13 GB. Normally the file is only few KB
