How to show and print images from a JIRA filter in a Confluence page on PDF export?

Willem-Jan van Asseldonk September 30, 2012

We try to print a list of JIRA issues displayed on a Confluence page via a PDF.

This works fine, images attached to the JIRA issues are displayed on the Confluence page.

However when exported to PDF the JIRA issues do not contain the images anymore.

Is there a way to export/print the images from JIRA?

Hi,

I am experiencing the same problem.
I am using the cloud version.

I created a report where I display some issues from Jira.
There are some images in the body of some issues.

They are displayed correctly in Confluence.
But the images are not displayed when I export to PDF or  Word.

Since that is an old issue, I imagine that you should have a fix for that.

Thanks,
Flavio

I am also seeing this issue, 2.5 years later.  Has anyone found a fix for this?

I'm not sure if it is doable in your use case, but if you export the issues on the JIRA side with the PDF View Plugin, then you will be able to:

  1. display the attached images themselves
  2. display the attachment metadata only (filename, filesize, etc.)
  3. display any image that is in the text fields, like "description" or "environment". It can be an attachment or even an external image specified by an absolute URL.
  4. embed the attached images (and other attached files) in the PDF document!

(You can select any combination of these options.)

Hey Willem-Jan,
hey Roya,

It's been quite some time to come up with an answer, but I just want to point you to the release notes of Confluence 5.6, especially the part on the improvements of the PDF export:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Confluence+5.6+Release+Notes#Confluence5.6ReleaseNotes-PDFExportimprovements

This might be just what you're looking for - if it's not too late yet. smile

Regards,
Philipp
