How to retrieve user statistics for attachments?

I would like to see which user is downloading which attachment and how many times? For eg

User A Book.xls 52 views

User B Answer.pdf 1 view

Haven't really seen a way to do this. Only thing I can think of is if you have access logs enabled at your server, grep the access log for the pattern /MY-CONF-URL/download/attachments/5611781/Adams-attachments-test.docx

where 5611781 is the pageID of the page the attachment is on.

We are able to retrieve total views for attachments but i need to check who's downloading what and how many times
