In creating a new page in confluence in automatically insets a line between every line.
I want to default to use no space, so I don't have to press shift+enter and so I can paste in content.
Currently if I paste in a set of text it adds a line between every line including blank lines.
@Carlos Massiah this issue is more common than you may think. Have you tried pasting the content into a text editor first to see how it is formatted? Often Microsoft Office documents have underlying formatting (since it is a rich text editor) that may cause content to be moved around when saving. I usually check this by pasting the content into Notepad and seeing if the same results happen as you are seeing when you publish. At the time of publishing in Confluence any of that underlying formatting surfaces, resulting in the double spacing you are experiencing.
Pasting into a plain text format then pasting into confluence worked, keeping single 0 line spacing where there was 0 line spacing.
This is an acceptable solution of getting documents into confluence.
