How to post a tutorial clip to a confluence page?

Shannon McCullough September 25, 2015

I'm trying to publish some 'how to' mp4 clips on a confluence cloud page using the multimedia macro.  I'm struggling to find a working set of mp4 settings, everything I upload results in a message "a plugin is needed to display this content".  However I can open the clips directly in the browser at they play fine.

I'm new to publishing video content so grabed a sample mp4 clip http://www.sample-videos.com/video/mp4/480/big_buck_bunny_480p_1mb.mp4 and I'm getting the same result.

Question:
Is there a set of video settings I need to use?
Are there any sample of working videos I could investigate?

Thanks,

Shannon

Hello Shannon,

in my opinion the Multimedia Macro doesn't a good job. If you use MP4 your browser say you need the QuickTime Plugin.

Can you create a user macro in Confluence Cloud? If yes, you can create a macro with an HTML5 Video Player. (Example: https://davidsimpson.me/2013/07/28/html-5-video-user-macro-for-atlassian-confluence/)

Tim
