How to manage big amount of data storage in add-on developement ?

I'm learning about development for Atlassian products. I started by Atlassian tutorials for creatiing add-ons.

I saw that we can use PluginSettings to store some data, but how to do to manage big amounts of data (Example : Storing 100 000 records and their dependencies in a relational model) .

You could work with XML- or JSON-Files or use the database
