How to filter a Insert Jira Issue/Filter search criteria using a custom field

Ken Clark September 23, 2022

Our Jira project has a custom field "Backlog Category".

In Confluence, I would like to create a "Insert Jira Issue/Filter" item that is filtered on that field.  I have tried numerous JQL trying to get this to work, but nothing does anything but give an error "The Jira server didn't understand your search query..."

This is what the JQL is currently set to:

project = IMP AND backlog-category="Stability"

How do I make this work?

Hi @Ken Clark ,

Have you tried testing your JQL query in Jira? I think the way you are including the name of the custom field is causing the problem. If you start typing in the name of the custom field in Jira search, and then click on the suggested custom field, you should get the correct way to write the custom field for JQL.
