How to dynamically display an xls file in Confluence, ultimately on JIRA dashboard?

We have an xls file that I'd like to get displayed on a JIRA dashboard.  We have Confluence and I'm trying to figure out if I can use it to help out.  I see I can attach the file to a confluence page and then display that page on the dashboard in JIRA.  This doesn't work for us since we have other apps/people accessing the xls file on the Sharepoint site updating it and viewing it from Sharepoint.  We can't use the Confluence SHarepoint connector since it doesn't work for Sharepoint Online.

Any suggestions?

I know that it's been a long time since you've posted this question. Did you by any chance tried the same procedure you are describing to see if the xlsx is being updated?
