Is it possible to show a single label inside the content of an article ?
Our knowledgebase articles are classified as "EndUser", "1stLine" and "2ndLine". I want this to be visible in the body of the article in the format of labels, so it is clearly visible for the support agent if the article is executable by her/him.
Hi @Stefaan Boes ,
our app Metadata for Confluence could do for your use case.
You can try the app for free by following the link I posted.
If you have any questions about the Metadata for Confluence add-on, you can contact Communardo through the official Support channel: Product Support

Metadata for Confluence can put metadata inside an article, however:

I'm happy to inform you that we just released a new version of Metadata for Confluence Cloud in the Atlassian Marketplace.
The new version includes the long-awaited improvement with the “Display Metadata Value Macro”: now you can show specific Metadata values directly in your page content. This new feature makes it easier to integrate key information exactly where you need it on your Confluence pages.
Alongside this feature, we’ve also included various improvements and bug fixes.
We are looking forward to hearing your feedback about it.

Hi @Stefaan Boes ,
While I'm not aware of a native to Confluence solution, I have a possible alternative.
We have a paid app which can display labels inside the page: Document Metadata for Confluence Cloud .
You can try for free if that works for you. If you have any feedback, we'll try to improve.

Thanks Marc, I'll give that a try for sure and let you know my feedback.

In the meantime, I have checked the add-in:
As you mentioned, it can show metadata inside an article. In our case the "page labels" are useful, but there is no option to separate all labels and put them in different places in the article (see example below).
e.g. page labels: EndUser, 1stLine, Printing, CI, ...
layout of the article:
- Support Tier: EndUser, 1stLine
- Component: Printing
- Article Type: CI

Hi @Stefaan Boes ,
Thank you for describing the use case. Achieving this is complicated in Confluence, because addons are limited in the way they can extend Confluence.
I think your use case could be answered by the upcoming "Databases for Confluence" feature. It is in development at the moment: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Databases-are-coming-soon-to-Confluence/ba-p/2336724
We might add single label rendering as a new feature, but we must sort out how that would work.
Please contact our support if you need any further assistance, we like to help.

None of the Label Macros meet your requirements to display a single label on the page body.
I understand that you would like go group KB articles by support group (level 1, level 2)
You could use the Content by Label macro to list all pages for level 1/2 on a single page.

Thanks for the quick answer @Dave Mathijs .
I however don't want to group these articles, but just want to provide an efficient visual indicator that informs support agents whether or not they are able to execute the procedure written in the article.

Personally, I would (mis-)use the Page Status feature for this: Add a status to your page or blog
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
True, I have thought about that too. It creates a nice indicator on the page, however I still need to add the label manually (so it shows up in our portal). It would be nice if I could achieve both with a single action. But for now, let's hope that this turns into a feature request for next releases.
