How to create Jira Items from Confluence with Formatting?

When I create Items from Confluence Requirements, the formatting in Confluence is not passed to JIRA in the Description.  Is there something I am not doing correctly, or is this a feature request?

Example, if I have in Confluence:

The Widget will do the following:

  • Open Dialog box with message
  • Show user three buttons
    • Button 1
    • Button 2
    • Button 3
  • Save button choice

I will get the following in JIRA, which creates a horrible looking concatenated line of text:

The Widget will do the following:Open Dialog box with message Show user three buttonsSave button choiceButton 1Button 2Button 3

So I am left with copying and pasting, which gets me this:

The Widget will do the following:
Open Dialog box with message
Show user three buttons
Button 1
Button 2
Button 3
Save button choice

So I have to manually add the * to create the bullet lists, number lists, etc.

Did you ever find a solution for this? It seems strange to me that this is not easier to do!
