How to control the confluence administrators group notifications?

Einat Dahari December 12, 2018

We have upgraded lately to v6.12
Ever since all the users that we have on the confluence-administrators group receive an email notification for any request for access by other users. It didn't happen in the previous version and I can't find where it's defined in the system. Anyone is familiar with this? thanks

Hi Einat, and welcome to Community!

Apparently, v6.8 introduced a new request for access notification sequence. It's defined here:

Confluence chooses people to contact in the following order:

  1. people who have contributed to the page, can still see the page, and have 'Restrict' or 'Admin' space permission (sorted by last edit date)
  2. space administrators who can see the page (sorted alphabetically)

Hope this helps!

Hi Carolyn:)
Thanks for answering so quickly!
Very useful information.

Do you know if Confluence allows to modify it?
I would like to remove some of the administrators from receiving this type of notification as it spams their email.
Thanks!

You're welcome :)

Maybe you can reconfigure how you structure and use your user groups. For example, for any 'troublesome' spaces, you can use a different new group of users for that space admin, so that 'confluence-administrators' group is not getting spammed.
