How do i notify someone on a question i want him to answer?

When i add @ with someone on a question i expect a mail to be sent to him

This does not happen.

Is there a way to notify some one when asking a question on Questions besides using "share" which only copies the url?

@ mentioning should send the user an email.

Have they checked their spam to ensure it's not gone into there?

If you have mentioned someone and that someone isn't receiving any message, but all the rest people receive it normally, then most likely that person has deselected the option to be notified when someone mention them. To check this out, that person must:

• Click on their avatat
• Click personal settings
• Scroll down and make sure that "Someone mentions you" option is selected
