How do i Control Access to Confluence with AD Integrated

Deleted user September 24, 2020

We enabling confluence within Organisation. Currently we have standard Plan with up to 100 users being enabled in Confluence. We would like to configure integration with our corporate AD to simplify User management, how ever we do not want to loos control on Access to Confluence and hence costs.

We do not expect that all of the employees will have an access to Confluence, we want  to limit it to a certain users.

Ho do i control which users has access to Confluence after there is an integration with Active Directory configured?

When you configure Confluence to integrate with AD, you can use a particular LDAP search query that limits users either by membership of a particular group in the AD or by user account status in AD.

One way would be to create a confluence-users group in your AD and only give access to Confluence to those users. You would then have offloaded the user management from Confluence to your AD.
