How do I test a user macro?

I am not an admin to create user macros, however the admin does work with me on a limited basis.  If I build a macro they will create it for me but it is not efficient to be going back and forward if I need to tweak the macro. Is it possible for me to test the macro before sending it to them to create it?

Install a trial version of confluence locally using the dev license that comes with the paid license or ask them to build a test instance so everyone can access it?

Or setup the SDK locally and run a local dev environment.
