How do I set permissions on information referenced via excerpt macro

Katherine Burstein August 13, 2015

Using the excerpt macro and only showing part of the info on a restricted page.  With the user not having access to the parent page they can not see the excerpt.  Any way to set permission on "excerpt data"?

Another possibility is to put the excerpt on the public page and put the include macro on the private page.

I'm afraid not, but there shouldn't be any harm in giving users read-only access to the source page, especially if you "hide" that page by moving it out of the pagetree.
