How do I control where files created from a template go?

I have a 'create from template' button on a page, and I would like the page created from the template to be created as a child of the page where the button is located so that I can use the 'children display' macro to display all the created pages underneath the create from template button. How would I automatically have all documents created from this template appear as a child to the current page?

Workaround: I replaced the 'create from template' button with a link to the create page url - https://XYZ.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/createpage-entervariables.action?templateId=12345678&spaceKey=SPACEKEY&title=&newSpaceKey=SPACEKEY&fromPageId=12345
