How can I set the due date on a task in Confluence?

You can use // when writing the task and a calendar appears. It's the due date for the task.

So, someone else made tasks, and I'm looking at a task report... I'd like to assign due dates to those tasks after they've been written...

How does one add a due date to a task with no date in a task report?

If the answer is -> Track down the page the task was originally authored in, edit the page, edit the task, type // to bring up the calendar, and then pick a date... - That has got to be the worst answer there could possibly be other than "you can't". So, I'm hoping I'm just inept and there is a way to do basic task management! 

Please inform me I'm a noob and enlighten me!
