I would like to compare the structure between 2 confluence instances. Is there a way to select a page and see the total amount of child pages, and grandchildren?
Hi @Maria Romagosa ,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
If you want to see the total number of child pages under a parent page or space, you can use the elements in Confluence. The page tree would be super helpful for that. I’ve even made a sample video in a sample space for you. Maybe that’ll help!
Cheers,
Hi @Shivam Sharma
Thanks for the suggestion!
and thanks for taking the effort for creating the recording :-)
Using the Page Tree macro indeed displays all pages under the selected page
but assuming I have over 10,000 pages
I need to first expand all child pages and the select all and then paste into an excel sheet to get an exact number.
We were hoping for an easier way to get the number without displaying all the pages?
Using the Child Display macro suggested by @Manne Kjærby - ProProces will also display all pages but at least here they are all expanded so the challenge is to select all and copy into an Excel sheet for a count
using the Shift button this is possible.
Thanks @Manne Kjærby - ProProces for this advice.
Regards,
David

Hi @david cockrell & @Maria Romagosa
Thank you for your detailed explanation!
For a more efficient way to count pages without manual selection, consider using an app like "Site Statistics for Confluence Cloud". It provides complete statistics for pages and spaces in your Confluence instance.
I’ve attached a screenshot for reference. Maybe this will solve your query!
Cheers,

Hi Maria.
Welcome to the community.
You can use the Child pages (Children Display) macro and define it to show all levels.
Let me know if it helped you :-)
