How can I change the layout of my Confluence space without changing the global site?

David March 20, 2019

Hi everyone!

I am trying to find a way to format the layout of my Confluence space without having to alter the global site layout.

Specifically, I am trying to make the following items constant through every page on my space and have them follow the user when they scroll up/down the page:

  • add sidebar on left with links
  • add sidebar on right with links
  • add header bar
  • add search bar (that searches only that space and not the entire global site)

I would be really grateful for any help you can provide on any of these items. Thank you so much in advance!

Victor,

this is not what David asked for: He want to change the sidebar, add another one and also do changes on the header & search bar on a per space configuration.

Out of the box, you can do the following customizations with a space:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/customize-your-space-139423.html

If you need more, you can try some app. I would recommend:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211636/scroll-viewport-for-confluence?hosting=server&tab=overview

Atlassian is using it themselves (Check the bottom links on the above documentation link...). We're using it for our complete company website. Totally recommended!

Best
