How can I add Specified Parameters to my page Confluence.

AIT MOUSSA Mohamed February 26, 2024

I want to add variables in Confluence and retrieve them in the resolver (Backend). These variables are specific to each User who will use our application developed on Confluence.

Each user must provide their own parameters  in Confluence in order to retrieve them in my code (Forge/resolver) and use them in my  API request.

Thanks.

Welcome to the community @AIT MOUSSA Mohamed !

Not sure if I understood you well. Can you please explain? You have developed an app for Confluence and when you say parameters, which ones?

Hello @Perisic Nikola

Yes i have developed an app for confluence with forge, and for each user using our app on Confluence, we need some information, for example, an API Key.

I want to retrieve this information in my code (Resolver) to use it in an API request(headers of our API request ). Is there a place in Confluence where we can add variables that I can retrieve in my code?

Thanks

Hi @AIT MOUSSA Mohamed

Sadly, no, this is not possible. Retrieving the API keys from other users is off limits, since that would be a security issue.

Hi @Perisic Nikola I understand the security issue about saving API Key of a user in confluence, so what about saving other variables somewhere in confluence and get them in my app code (Resolver).

Hello @AIT MOUSSA Mohamed

Since I am not familiar how the development for Forge works in a full spectre, I will first add Atlassian here so someone can answer.

More recommended is to raise a question on the Forge community:
