Has anyone gotten the media macro to work in Confluence?

Eric March 3, 2016

I'm trying to embed an mpg file on a Confluence page using the media macro.  This does not work.  I've tried Chrome, Firefox and IE.  I have the right plugin and the file does play.  It just won't work using the media macro.  I can simply attach the file directly to the Confluence page and that will work, but just curious if anyone got the media macro itself to work.

Yes.

We took an ARF file from a recorded Webex session, converted it to MP4 and attached it to a page. We then used the Multimedia Macro to allow streaming. So far with our testing, it only works with Chrome & MP4 files. We tested with other browsers and file formats (wmv, flash, etc.) it's either iffy or flat out won't work (even if you install the browser plugin requested in each case). The other issue we found is that even though we did not mark the box for autoplay, it autoplays anyway. Argh!!

At least it works... kind of. wink

Hope that helps,
Don

Bump. Anyone at Atlassian know how to fix the issue of a file autoplaying when it it has been marked not to do so?
