When creating Custom event types on a calendar, all custom events that use the same icon are filtered as being the same event. Is it possible to separate these out as separate filterable event types with distinct colours attached to each?
Hi @Jared Last
When creating custom event types in Confluence calendars, you can have multiple types with the same icon but distinct colors and filtering options. To achieve this, go to calendar settings, select "Edit" and "Event Types," and choose "Add new event type." Give each type a unique name, select an icon (which can be reused), and choose a distinct color.
Although sharing icons, these custom types will remain filterable separately due to their unique names, appearing as distinct items in the filter list. Color coding enables visual differentiation on the calendar.
For troubleshooting, ensure unique names for each type and try clearing browser cache or checking in a different browser. Note that while same-icon types are possible, visual distinction relies primarily on color. Consider using different icons for enhanced visual clarity.
Custom event type effectiveness may vary depending on your Confluence version and add-ons. If issues persist, consult Atlassian support or check for known issues.
