Filter Child Display to show only selected child pages

I am looking for a way to do the following 

Filter Child Display to show only selected child pages

I have added the child display into a table, so list them out, and when i click on the filter on the table , it shows me the = box. I enter the values but shows me nothing. My child page table looks like below

I want the apprioate child pages to be shown under the specfic  letter range colomn
