Failure to import space to Confluence Cloud

Tim Buntel February 23, 2015

Hi,

I exported a space from an on-prem Confluence(per https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/Cloud/Importing+a+Confluence+Space) . That produced a zip file.

To import it, I go to the import page and under "Import Options -> File to import" I browse to the ZIP file and it opens the Zip file. I select exportDescriptor.properties and click "choose".

I then get the error message:

"The zip file did not contain an entry 'exportDescriptor.properties'. It did not contain any files, or was not a valid zip file."

That file is clearly in the ZIP.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi Tim,

Is your on-premises instance of Confluence the same version as the Confluence On-Demand instance? If not, you will need to upgrade the on-premises space to the same version in order to import the space without issues.

If you do need assistance with this, please consider raising a support ticket as described here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Troubleshooting+Problems+and+Requesting+Technical+Support and we will be glad to assist you.
