We've recently migrated from Confluence Server to Confluence Cloud and the two pages that I'm having problems with editing were originally created in the Legacy Editor. I've updated them to use the New Editor which introduced the editing issue.
Every time I want to edit the page the editing bar at the top is grey'd out and after a few seconds the following error pops up at the bottom of the page:
I've refreshed the page multiple times and the same message keeps popping up every time.
Other things I've tried include:
- Reverting the update from Legacy Editor to current editor which allows editing in the legacy editor. As soon as I transfer it to the current editor the problem starts again.
- I've logged out of Confluence, cleared my browser history, logged in using a different browser, incognito windows, etc. and still received the same error when trying to edit the page.
This issue only occurs on two pages - all other pages are currently in Legacy Editor and I have no problem editing them.
Update:
I've reached out to Atlassian Support and they've been super helpful investigating and finding the issue. Ultimately the migration from the Legacy Editor to the new Editor resulted in the migration of a very specific part of the content that isn't supported by the new Editor. This results in the block of any edits to the impacted page.
They've raised a public reported bug - CONFCLOUD-778 -, but I'd suggest reaching out to them if you're experiencing the same issue as they can pin point the corrupted parts and fix it in the meantime.
Hi @Karien Maskelyne ,
Unfortunately the new editor won't work with all pages made with the old editor. I'd recommend to contact Atlassian support directly.
