External Comments for Confluence Plugin not hiding comment area on all pages, nor does it hide Add>comment

Barbara Green December 4, 2012

We recently installed the External Comments for Confluence plugin and set up Disqus. At first, all seemed to be okay. Then, we saw regular anonymous confluence comments show up on the daily digest, but were unable to see them on the page. We finally found them under View/Activity. So the plugin doesn't hide the upper right Add>Comments. We made sure commenting was disabled in each space and in some cases, the Add>Comments was removed (dropdown appeared blank), but in a few others, it remains accessible.

Also, the Disqus commenting area appears on most pages (http://wiki.acstechnologies.com/display/CL/Church+Life), but in the same space, we'll suddenly find a page where the disqus comment dialog is not present, but the old Confuence comment dialog is present for logged in users, whle no comment dialog appears for anonymous users (http://wiki.acstechnologies.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=28715201).

Hi Barbarag,

I was investigating this behavior but couldn't find any reference for it. I strongly advise to get in touch with the plugin vendor. I'll leave this question open so if other person experienced this issue, he might help here.

Regards,

Rodrigo

Thanks Rodrigo. I thought the vendor was monitoring this because of the link on this page: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/external-comments/version/100/support. But I'll email directly.
