Existing Confluence Users - Migrate to Jira Directory

Nathan Bouwsma July 8, 2014

We have been using Confluence and built our users in the internal directory. We added Jira and are using the Jira Directory Server to bring new users in. How do I move my Internal Confluence users into Jira Directory Server. Is there a migration or synchonization process?

Hi Nathan,

I recommend to try to migrate the users in confluence version 5.3 or above since there were changes in the user mapping inside the database.

I could find this other answer that may help migrating the users from directories: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/87000/how-to-migrate-users-from-one-directory-to-another-using-sql

I heavily suggest a backup of confluence before any change in the database.

Cheers,

Rod

Is there a way to merge two users or transfer all authored pages, etc. between users?
