Event types don't disappear from Calendar list

I added some events on Team Calendar.  Then I changed the event types to another event type.  The old event type still shows up under the calendar list of events on the right side.  My expectation is if there are no events for that event type, it would disappear, but it does not.  I don't want to force hide it, but this seems like a bug.  Anything I am missing?

Hi Ron,

I tried your scenario on a test instance and found the same behavior you are reporting. I opened a bug report: Event types listed on the right of calendar even after event type is changed Please vote or comment on it to be added as a watcher and communicate directly with the development team. If the behavior is intentional the developers may close it as not being a bug, but then we will know it's working as designed.
