Error settting up confluence to connecto JIRA

I have a separate stand alone JIRA instance.

In the setup screens on step 4 Setup user management I am getting the following error: This is not a valid url for JIRA 4.3 or later.

I can take URL and put it in the browser on my confluence server and have no problems.

Also note that if I put an invalid user in I get an error on the user, but if I have a valid user I still get the URL error.

This issue was caused by the windows firewall on the Confluence server blocking the port that Confluencew was on. This prevented JIRA from connecting back to Confluce.

It looks like you're using an external domain name for your instance, meaning Confluence will need to be able to communicate with a DNS server that tells it how to find the proxy that handles traffic to and from JIRA.

First, please, could you please try to confirm if the application name is the same confirmed by you when installed Confluence?

Also, there's another workaround if your issue is going wrong yet:

  1. Set up the Confluence and JIRA with the localhost, and set up the application link and make sure it works.
  2. Replace the Base URL on both sides and remove then recreate the application link and make sure it works.
  3. Set up the HTTPS on both sides and remove then recreate the application link and make sure it works.

There's an article that could help you to better understand it too. Please, refer to the following article to achieve the same:

Hope it helps.

Kind Regards
