Dynamic links between spaces in Confluence?

Gordon Messmer December 10, 2012

We're looking for a way to dynamically link information between spaces. For example, we have a space called "switch" which displays a table with customer switch configurations. We have other spaces with details of other customer equipment and software as well. We want to create a "customer" space with each customer and the relevant info from each space (switch, etc). Is it possible to create such links such that if I change the content of the table in the customer's row in the "switch" space that it is also changed in the customer's space?

Hi Gordon,

I belive you can use Exceprt include or HTML include macros for it as a start.

That doesn't quite work for our needs. What I really want to do is best described as linked tables such as in a spreadsheet. For example, if I click on a customer name it should return all related elements (switch, router, etc). Likewise, editing any single element in the customer page (switch, etc) would update that element in the table so its new value is displayed in the switch overview page where all customer data is displayed.
