Disable alphabeticaly sort by default

Andrei Pisklenov July 20, 2015

We use Global and Documentation theme (Confluence 5.8). By default in left page tree we have alphabetically order for all new pages. If we just once change page order manually (space operations), all new pages will add to the bottom of page tree.

How to disable alphabetically sort by default?

We need to new pages always add to the bottom of page child list (in page tree).

HI,

There is an option in the hierarchy view to change how pages are sorted? Have you tried to change it there to see if it changes the way new pages are added?  Tools-> View in Hierarchy then click on the icon next to parent pages in the list. The icon has "AZ" and a down arrow in it.

We don't want to use any sorting. We need disable all sorting by default. Our case: All pages will create in the bottom of page tree. Without any page sorting.

You are able to undo sorting by clicking on the icon I mentioned. I think by default it is set to sort alphabetically but if you click on that icon next to parent pages then it turns it off. Give it a try and see if it works for you.

Alex, we knew about this button) But we create more than 100 spaces each day, and we need to disable any sorting by default for ALL new and exist spaces.

Oh ok I see now. I don't think there is a setting in Confluence where you can turn that off across all spaces. I will take a look and see if I can find anything.
