Customising the Confluence OnDeman Dashboard

Does anyone know how to customise the Confluence OnDemand Dashboard for the 5.0 version just updated over 2/24? The only reference I can get is for JIRA but not Confluence for the OnDemand instance.

For example I'd like to eliminate the whole "Get Started" region, reduce the updates region size OR provide the ability for the Space Directory to be the default Dashboard page.

Thoughts welcome?

Currently it's not possible to edit the Confluence OnDemand dashboard, the only thing that you can change on it is the welcome message. If you really need to customize the landing page of your instance, Jeison's suggestion would be your best bet.

How about editing a page as you wish and make it the landing page for Confluence?

You can do that by creating a page in a Space, setting it as the Space homepage (through space admin), and then setting this space as the site Homepage (through Confluence admin > General Configuration).
