Creating an index/table of content of select spaces?

Victor Prasad January 23, 2017

Hello,

We have a lot of Confluence Space because governance was and ignored word.

For our branch we have a lot of spaces, with no relation.  We have create a main space to be sort of an index or table of contents for this all these branch specific spaces.

Questions:

Can we relate all these branch spaces with a tag, then have a tag cloud show up on our main index space?

Can we have a RSS of all changes to these branch spaces that appear on the main index space?

Can a space administrator do this?  We want to have as little as possible Confluence Administrator interference.

Is there a smarter way to do this?

Open to suggestions!

Thanks,

Victor

You may need some serious "brain surgery" on how your system is set up ...

Tags or labels are quite helpful in the Space Directory - but the Directory still only shows the User the Spaces that they have access to.

Same with the email notifications and Watch settings will only alert people on content changes in regards to the Spaces and pages they have access to ... not sure how that works with RSS as presumably the person needs to get to the page in the first place to set up the RSS

So what is it you want to tell whom, and for what purpose?

Telling people there are a whole bunch of Spaces they can't access may be counter productive unless the purpose is to encourage joining those Spaces ... and then someone has to manage the User access approval
