Create Confluence user authenticated by delegated LDAP

Philip Steinebrunner January 19, 2014

Hi

I wanted to add a user to Confluence which gets authenticated by Delegated LDAP as I do in JIRA. But in Conflunece there seems to be no way to specify the corresponding directory when creating the user. How can I achieve this like in JIRA?

Regards

Philip

Hi Philip,

It looks like your JIRA is using delegated authentication and your Confluence is configured to use LDAP in 'CONNECTOR' way.

You'll have to re-setup your User Directory, accordingly to this documentation: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Connecting+to+an+Internal+Directory+with+LDAP+Authentication

After that, you should see the option to select "Delegated LDAP Authentication".

If this doesn't work, please create a support ticket at http://support.atlassian.comand we'll assist you with this.

Hi Felipe

I already added an Delegated LDAP Authentication to the User Directories but I still cant predefine users without specifying a password as in JIRA. If a new user logs in the user will be created by Confluence.

But it would be great if I can specify the users before they log in to assign group memberships and other things.

Cheers

Philip
