Could changing the Confluence database dialect cause complications?

Gabrielle Goodwin February 11, 2015

In order for Confluence Questions to work, the database dialect needs to be changed from net.sf.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect to com.atlassian.hibernte.dialect.MySQLDialect. (per this KB article https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/Unable+to+Access+Confluence+Questions)

Could making this change have an adverse effect on existing add-ons or functionality? Have any issues been reported as a result of making this change?

Hi Gabrielle,

As far as I know, the default dialect for MySQL is com.atlassian.hibernte.dialect.MySQLDialect, which is stated in my connection settings as well.

Changing to this dialect should do no harm, by the opposite, will get the situation better to Confluence and questions apps.

Cheers,

Rodrigo
