Connecting Confluence and JIRA

Jim_Cochrun May 12, 2020

We have started to use JIRA and Confluence where I work.  We have forms that are filled out and routed for approval on JIRA. Once those forms are approved, can they be displayed on Confluence?  My current process is to hand-jam all of the data from the form into our Confluence page.  It would be much easier if there was a way to pull the data from JIRA and display it on our Confluence page.

Thanks.

Jim

Hi @Jim_Cochrun ,

I will tell you the way I know.

To communicate between two products like for example, Jira and Confluence, we would need to set up application-links. There are two ways to create app-links.

  1. OAuth
  2. OAuth (impersonation)

Go ahead and provide the URL of the other instance that you want to connect to, repeat the same in both instances, be sure that authentication matches in both instances.

Thanks!!
