Confluence vs. JIRA licence

Marek Vejrosta November 7, 2016

Hi, currently we use JIRA for 100 users. We want to start using Confluence, but only for 50 users. It is possible to have for both products difference number of licenses?

Yes.  You're billed separately for JIRA and Confluence, so you can be on different licensing tiers for each product.

JIRA and Confluence are separate.  To expand a bit:

100 User JIRA and 50 User Confluence is OK.

Marketplace Addons, like Gliffy need to match the number of Users.  Gliffy for JIRA would need to be 50 User, or Gliffy for Confluence would need to match at 100 Users.

Finally, other products like JIRA Service Desk are Agent based, which means designated users are 'Agents' and you only need licenses for that number users (usually a subset of all users).
