Confluence user variable for html macro

Hi

I wonder if its possible to get user data when I use the html macro.
I found this example somewhere $generalUtil.getUserAccessor().getUser($userId) but that will just show as plain text.

Is there a way to use Confluence variables?

Hi Tobbe,

the HTML macro renders only HTML; if you want to use Confluence variables, you will have to use a user macro. You can still render HTML in the user macro, but you will also be able to use Confluence variables along with it.

Yes thank you. that did the trick!
