Confluence stopping automatically every now and then

confluence stopping every now and then. I want to keep it running [ubuntu 14.04] but unfortunately it stop after some while and again need to start why?

There could be any number of reasons it stops.  Sometimes, yes, a human does it, sometimes it's resources, sometimes it's a bug, and so-on.

Start by reading the application log - look for the last time it restarted and then read backwards from there.  Are there shutdown messages?   "I am struggling with" type warnings or errors?  Vast swathes of horrid java stack traces?  Or does it just look like it's running perfectly normally and suddenly <bang> it's starting up again?
