Confluence search indexing problem

Marten Meikop December 4, 2017

Hello,

I have a documentation about a service called "Umbrella".
I created a page called "Umbrella" and under that page, created sub-pages:

* Use cases
* Architecture
* Technical requirements

Now, If I search for "Umbrella architecture", I end up with no results.
That means, the indexing does not take into account the context (placement in the page-tree) of the page.

A workaround would be to add full names to every page:
* Umbrella Use cases
* Umbrella Architecture
* Umbrella Technical requirements

but that seems too inconvenient.

Is there any way to configure the indexing so that the page context is also considered?

Thanks!

Hi Marten,

There's no way to change the indexing behavior I think but I would suggest you use labels in your subpages. Adding an Umbrella label would help the search as the label will be considered as part of the content.

Might not be the perfect solution but I guess it can help.

Let us know if you like it!

Cheers
