Confluence search behaviour

Johannes Rudolf August 14, 2019

Hello all,

I have checked several pages either around here or in Atlassian documentation but there's still an open question. It's about the Confluence search behaviour. It seems to be clear that I would have to enter a full expression instead of only half of the word without an asterisk in order to get result suggestions (unlike when using the quick search).

However, for example, we're running a Service Desk project which is connected to a Confluence space for KB. Everything works actually fine. But, when we're using longer expressions for a label or title such as "requirement", "development", "recruiting", we'd need to enter the full term or use the asterisk.

I assume that is an intension but it was never made clear or I haven't found the place to read it. So my question would be, is it really like that? There'll be no search suggestions when using only half the words without an asterisk in Confluence search (NOT the quick search)? And and if so: why?

Thanks for your help!

Cheers,

Johannes
