Confluence migration from Production to Test (Confluence v 4.1.6)

Eda Prasad April 7, 2017

Hello Team,

Am planning to migrate my wiki production to test environment but it taking a long time.
I took my WIKI Prod manually back up the contents of the database into a zipped XML file. my backup will be copied /opt/atlassian/application-data/confluence/restore directory.

From here I copied my production backup to my test wiki server and upload and restore my backup in WIKI Test application. But it taking a long time while restoring the backup when starting it shows 1hr after that the time period is increasing to days and weeks please find the attached screen shots. so I have canceled my migration.wiki backup snapshot.PNG1.PNG2.PNG3.PNG4.PNG

Check out these two pages for a quicker way to do it. Basically, it involves restoring a backup of the production database to non production and then copying copying data from the Confluence home directory on production to non production. The second page just talks about rebuilding the index, which you should do after server migration.
