Confluence Wiki - Mixed Case text creates a link. Can you turn this off?

Jon Anderson April 28, 2013

When someone posts something in mixed case, example McAlester it auto creates a link to add a page. Is there a way to turn this off? If you edit the page and unlink the hyperlink it still relinks it after you hit save.

What you describe is CamelCase linking.

You can prevent a single CamelCase word from becoming a link:

Or turn it off completely:

This appears to happen only if you do upper, lower, upper:

Examples:

McAlester

McccccAlester
