Confluence Server out of disk space, but still wont start

Steve Monkhouse February 16, 2021

Our confluence server ran out of disk space (due to the auto-backups - how do I disable them!?)

but after clearing up a pile of space and extending the drive confluence still wont start, and throws the :

HTTP Status 500 – Internal Server Error

Type Exception Report

Message org.apache.jasper.JasperException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.jsp.errors_jsp

Description The server encountered an unexpected condition that prevented it from fulfilling the request.

Exception

org.apache.jasper.JasperException: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.jsp.errors_jsp
	org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper.handleJspException(JspServletWrapper.java:605)
etc etc

error.. which still relates to out of disc space.

I tried loading with --disable-all-addons , but exactly the same error.

This is running on a CentOS 8 server connected to a postgresql db server (different machine)

thoughts?

Fixed it.. :)

ended up being a permissions issue caused by 'someone' (probably me) where the confluence.cfg.xml was root:root as i'd editted it instead of being confluence:confluence
