Is there any way to limit the confluence search to a specific set of pages? and not the entire space in which we have the search box?

The Page Tree Macro also has an option to limit search within the selected page tree.

I have a live search in Confluence.

Can I still limit that to a certain page tree?

You can use labels and then limit the search to pages with that label.
