Confluence Performance is very slow after upgrade from 5.10.4 to 6.3.4.

We have upgraded Confluence version from 5.10.4 to 6.3.4 as suggested by Atlassian team. 

Now the performance of the confluence is very slow. It taking 3-5min to load spaces.

Were you in contact with Atlassian Support? You said Atlassian recommended to do this step. 

So a few questions for troubleshooting:

• Does the Health Check say everything is alright?
• Any recurring errors in the Application Logs?
• Are all installed add-ons compatible?
• With version 6 Collaborative Editing comes with confluence. It needs 1 GB of memory for itself (if not set differently). Is it possible your server runs out of memory? Or the Java Heap runs out of memory?
  • Check if your server doesn't run out of memory
  • Check under Confluence administration -> System Informations for Java VM Memory Statistics
  • Collaborative Editing and Synchrony Troubleshooting

Yes. All are compatible.

Check if your server doesn't run out of memory

> we have 24GB of memory

Check under Confluence administration -> System Informations for Java VM Memory Statistics

This sounds all okay!

For the error you found I found this knowledgebase article:

• Does your Confluence run behind a reverse proxy?

• You say perfomance is slow while loading spaces, so are all pages affected?
