Hi Genius out there,

I want to take database back up of Confluence database,

From my Linux terminal

I am using pg_dump [Databaase name] > [NewDatabase].sql

But still database back up is not happening.

Is there any other way or guide to take a backup of Confluence database.

Also what are the precautions that i should take while backing up the Database.

Hi, according to Postgres manual the command you're using should be working. What's exactly the problem you're facing with the database backup?

Additional to this, the XML backup is an alternative to substitute the database backup, but we usually suggest to also create a backup of the entire home directory and install directory. This way your backup rotine will also include any customization to Confluence files you may have and your installed plugins.

Cheers
